Our commitment to the community
"We believe that improving healthcare is a necessity both on a local and an international level"
We are not only committed to improving healthcare in The Netherlands. Our know how and products can also be used in regions where high quality healthcare is not common. In cooperation with Cordaid-Memisa we want to make a sustainable contribution to accessible healthcare in Tanzania.Challenges in Tanzania

Tanzania is one of the developing countries facing considerable healthcare challenges. For the total population of 39.4 million there is an average life expectancy of 48 years*. In addition, Tanzania has a very high under-5 mortality rate for infants (126 per 1,000 births*). These numbers are a result of the many illnesses relevant in the country including diarrhea, malaria and AIDS.
Diseases are difficult to control because of a lack of good medicines. The shortage of well trained staff, adequate equipment and funds makes it almost impossible for Tanzanian healthcare institutions to offer high quality healthcare services at affordable costs.
These issues make it difficult for institutions to focus on long term solutions and development, posing a large challenge for the future.Assisting Tanzania in meeting the Millennium goals
In cooperation with Tragpi and the Christian Social Services Commission (CSSC - an umbrella organization of Tanzanian hospitals), Cordaid-Memisa has started a project for benchmarking of management information.
Several comparable hospitals are visited and data is collected. With a specially developed tool we provide management information like measured productivity and quality. The data is benchmarked with other hospitals to create a clear view of the best practice. This benchmark information allows us to advise and coach the management teams to make strategic choices.
The long term result will be that hospitals in Tanzania are able to use their resources efficiently and to maintain the quality level of healthcare. Our commitment and your support

We do not expect short term results in this project. However, if transparency is achieved, we will be able to contribute to improving healthcare quality in the long term and to assist in improving the accessibility of healthcare in Tanzania. This is why we have committed to this cause for five years.
For every consulting dag we donate €25. In addition, we encourage our clients to donate the same amount to support this important matter and are proud that most of our clients have decided to help.
